Black Fathers Thrive Group
Join a dedicated space for Black fathers to connect, share, and learn. This weekly virtual group, facilitated by a seasoned psychotherapist and child development expert, focuses on self-awareness, healing, and self-compassion. Expect to gain new insights, support, and a sense of community that enhances your fathering journey.
Group host Cheryl Hurst (She/Her/Hers), LCSW-R, (NY & NJ) is a psychotherapist, author, social justice warrior, and play therapy expert. Cheryl has more than 20 years of experience as a licensed therapist. She also holds a Post Master’s certificate in clinical supervision, and Sports Social Work. She is SIFI certified, and is competent in anti-oppression & liberation for people of color, child development, mind-body-emotion integration, men’s psychology, healthy relationships, and career counseling. In addition, Cheryl has experience as an Adjunct Professor and a mental health trainer. In working with Cheryl, you can expect honesty, attentiveness, respect and at times, humor!
